Emergency crews were called out southeast of Estevan late Tuesday night to find a semi-trailer on its' side just off the road on Highway 39 south.

The incident occurred shortly before 9pm in the middle of the construction zone of the highway 39 twinning project between the intersection of Highway 18 and the Roche Percee access road.

"Upon attendance, we discovered the driver to be ok and not injured...and alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time," expressed Constable Chad Mehl with the Estevan RCMP on the scene. The area has a very narrow shoulder due to the ongoing road improvements.

"Initial investigation indicate that the semi simply drove off the road, so the driver is likely facing a ticket of driving without due care and attention," added Cst. Mehl.

The scene will likely not be completely cleared until sometime Wednesday afternoon or evening as it will take some time to get the semi back on its' wheels, but traffic will still be passable in the area.

"It's not a dangerous spill at all," notes Mehl, as there did not appear to be any product on the ground in the area. "It's a soy, farm-based product and will take some time to clean up and that might take the better part of the day on Wednesday."

Estevan RCMP encourage all drivers to take their time driving through the construction zone on highway 39 and to obey all signage while work continues throughout the summer.
