The Weyburn Credit Unions have given donations to Weyburn and area communities thanks to their "Community Fund."

The application process actually runs all year the way our community fund works is every year our board of directors puts a portion of our profits into the community funds," says Tana Torkelson, Vice President of Marketing, Weyburn Credit Union.

Lang received $7,500 for new siding for their curling rink, Yellow Grass received $10,000 for playground equipment, and the Weyburn Comprehensive School received $10,000 for their bleacher project.

"That's really what makes the Credit Union different is that our profits are always returned to our members either in the form of great service, better products, rebates and bonuses of invested back in the community," says Torkelson.

Projects that would otherwise be put on hold can now be accomplished thanks to the Weyburn Credit Union grants.
