With Canada's 150th birthday this July, there are lots of opportunities to get active.

The ParticipACTION 150 Play List has 150 iconic Canadian physical activities that you can do to celebrate Canada's birthday - and prove Saskatchewan is the most playful province.

"We've kind of put it out there that Saskatchewan is going to show the rest of Canada that we're the most playful province," explained Kendall Longtin with Saskatchewan inMotion.

"So, we need your help to be playful and to have some fun and really get active in 2017."

To prove we are the most playful, Saskatchewan inMotion has created the PlayinSK Challenge which encourages you to:

  • Check out the 150 items and decide one you want to check off
  • Take a video of yourself doing the activity
  • In the video, wish Canada a "Happy Birthday"
  • At the end of the video, nominate two others for the challenge
  • Put you video on social media and tag #PlayinSK

Don't be intimated by the list; "I think that's the play aspect of this, is that it's fun to just got and try and tackle some of these things, try something new," said Longtin.

For example, if you've never tried fencing Longtin suggests checking out playinsk.ca for tutorials to learn some fencing moves.

"So, what if you're using a ruler or a pen for a fencing sword," she said. "As long as you can have some fun with it and cross some things off, I think that's the beauty of it."

"It's more about getting active and having a little bit of fun than it is necessarily doing the exact sport how it is exactly designed to be played."

Longin added, both Saskatchewan inMotion and ParticipACTION have made it easy for you to get active this spring.

"Just have some fun and celebrate Canada in 2017," she said.
