Another drug bust went down in the southeast this week and the Weyburn Police Service had part of the final search and arrest.

On Monday, at about 7:30 a.m., members of the Estevan Police Service, CWET and a member of the Weyburn Police Service conducted their searches of a private residence in Estevan and a Hotel in Weyburn. A man was taken into custody at the hotel and the woman was arrested at the residence. The searches came after a two-week investigation conducted by the Estevan Police Service's Drug/INtelligence Unit and the Combines Forces Special Enforcement Unit.

Searches of the two locations resulted in the seizure of 16 grams of crack cocaine and approximately $14,000 in Canadian cash. A vehicle was also seized as offence-related property along with other items used for the sale and distribution of crack cocaine.

Allen Enziwe Kaliati (22), of Edmonton, Alberta was subsequently charged with the following offences:

  1.  Possession of cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to sec. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. (CDSA)
  2.  Trafficking cocaine contrary to sec. 5(1) of the CDSA.
  3.  Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 contrary to sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Kaliati was released on several conditions. He will make his first appearance at the Estevan Provincial Court House on Monday July 10, 2017. The woman was released without charges. Kaliati is set to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on July 10.
