The following is the latest weekly report from the Weyburn Police Service:

January 18th

-          The Weyburn PS are investigating a theft of fuel from a business vehicle parked in the central industrial area of the City. 

-          The Weyburn PS has received a few reports over the past week of scams and frauds.  In one case it was a computer virus repair scam.  In the other it was a Revenue Canada scam.   We continually urge people to be diligent in committing to anything on-line or to giving out any personal information to anyone whose identity is not certain.

-          At about 5:55 pm the Weyburn PS responded to a report of a 2-vehicle collision at 1st Street NE and Coteau Avenue.  Through the investigation it was determined that a vehicle travelling North on 1st Street initially stopped at the stop sign, but began to travel again prior to it being safe to do so.  This resulted in the vehicle colliding with a vehicle traveling West on Coteau Avenue.  The 74 yer old female driver of the northbound vehicle was issued a ticket for leaving a Stop Sign before safe to do so.   She was also transported to the local hospital with what appeared to be minor medical issues.

-          At about 8pm the Weyburn PS were called to mediate a dispute between an estranged couple.  The matter was mediated.

January 19th

-          The Weyburn PS received a report of harassing communications taking place between a 33 yeard old female and a 20 year old female.  The matter has hopefully been resolved.

January 20th

-          The Weyburn PS received a report regarding an assault between a 20 year old male suspect and an 18 year old female victim.  The matter is still under investigation.

-          The Weyburn PS received a report of a theft of property from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 400 Block of Tom Hart Drive.  We urge people to remember to lock their vehicles and remove the keys.

-          The Weyburn PS are investigating mischief done to a number of vehicles parked together in the 400 Block of 13th Street NE.

-          At about 5:10 pm the Weyburn PS responded to a 2-vehicle collision on Government Road at Railway Avenue.  The investigation has revealed that the 50 year old female driver of one of the vehicles suffered some form of medical distress which resulted in the vehicle she was driving rear-ending a vehicle stopped for a passing train.  The driver was taken to the local hospital for assessment.

January 21st

-          The Weyburn PS are investigating the theft of property by a hotel tenant from one of the local hotels. 

-          The Weyburn PS received a complaint regarding a number of teens at a local business where one of these teens was threatened.  The matter is still under investigation.

January 22nd

-          At about 1:20 am the Weyburn PS received a call from a local taxi company regarding an unruly passenger who was refusing to pay.  Upon attending a 31 year old male was taken into custody for being Intoxicated in a Public place and was held in cells until sober.
