The Weyburn Prairie Sky CO-OP held it's annual Staff Appreciation day, with just one small twist.

Even the spurts of rain could not keep attendees from enjoying the games and barbecue.

The Federated CO-OP had $2,000,000 for 27 communities, and Weyburn is receiving $40,000 of it.

The Riverwood Wellness Committee put in the application for the grant and were pleasantly surprised when they were chosen. The cheque was given to them at the Staff Appreciation Day.

"We were very excited and very proud to be selected. We were selected as one fo the 27 out of 1,000 applicants," said Dawn Purdue with the Riverwood Outdoor Wellness Committee. They plan to put the money towards a new play structure in the Riverwood area. "It would include an exercise park, and a play structure, two swing sets, and we're looking at putting some other items in if funding allows."

They hope the new play structure would make it easier for families in the area since the nearest play structure is about one kilometer away.
