Weyburn has been seeing a relatively mild winter with snow melting quickly. When enough snow is on the ground the cross country ski trails around Weyburn will be prepared.

"We have a groomer and we do try to switch up the trail that we lay down just to keep it interesting and add variety for the users," says Linda Prokott, Parks Coordinator for the City of Weyburn.

Cross-country skiing is an enjoyable winter activity that gets people moving and outside in the winter months. Those who do not own cross-country skis can still take part in the activity.

"If people don't have their own cross-country skis they can be rented from the Weyburn Leisure Centre, I think right now there are only junior and youth sizes but we are looking to purchase some adult sizes in 2018," says Prokott.

The plan sees two starting points for the cross-country ski trails, one at Jubilee Park from the west parking lot and the other at River Park near the spray park.
