With summer winding down now it's just about that time of year where the City of Weyburn's spray parks are shut down for the season.

"So after a long busy summer we will be closing our spray parks as of Monday, September 13th," Explained Andrew Crowe, Director of Leisure Services with the City of Weyburn. "So basically we just extend the season as long as we feel that the spray parks will be utilized. So we've extended them the last couple of weeks here due to some warmer weather. However, we have to get on top of our winterization of the facilities. So we've extended it for this weekend coming up based on the nice weather that's supposed to be coming our way."

Crowe added that the River Park Spray Park and the Young Fellows Spray Park were both well attended throughout the summer and he thanked the community for taking such good care of them.

"Thank you to the citizens of Weyburn for spending time at the spray parks and respecting the spray parks," Crowe expressed. "We've had a very positive summer with no reported acts of vandalism at the spray parks so that's always nice to see."

Crowe said that they will be performing routine maintenance work at both of the parks to prepare them for the winter.
