A local woman is travelling to Ireland to 'do something amazing' .

Rekina Browatzke is travelling to Ireland to serve as a missionary with NET Ministries Ireland.

"NET stands for National Evangelization Teams. It's a Catholic organization that focuses on bringing youth closer to Christ, we focus on showing youth the love of God and showing them how to embrace the life of the Church," said Browatzke.

Browatzke has to raise a minimum of $6,500 before she journeys to Ireland in August. The money raised covers part of her training, food, and lodging expenses. She is asked to raise more than the minimum since NET is a non-profit organization and the minimum goal covers only a fraction of her expenses for the year.

"Right now I'm about halfway to my minimum goal, so I have two months to get the rest down," said Browatzke.

Browatzke is holding a few events to help raise the money.

On May 27 she is holding a bake sale. The sale will be held downtown at the Metro Center from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

On June 16 she is holding a garage sale at 50 Ash Drive from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Browatzke also accepts donations. Donations can be made in person, or online.

For those looking to help, she can be contacted at (306) 891-9100.
