City of Weyburn crews are working adjacent to Highway 39 this week, just west of Queen Street. The crews are removing a tree belt which is adjacent to the CP Rail line which runs through the intersection.

Claude Morin is the Superintendent of Public Works and Parks with the city. He explained the work is fairly simple.

“The tree belt is about 100 meters long, and we are removing it to help increase visibility at that intersection,” Morin said.

The work will be completed in roughly a week. The crews will be removing the stumps as well and then level the ground to match the surrounding area.
