The Weyburn Oilwomen Association Inc. are a group of locally based women who are employed in the Oil & Gas and affiliated industries, and women who want to make a difference in the community.

They host various events and fundraisers throughout the year and move all funds back into the community via scholarships & bursaries, donations to various sporting or arts organizations and community outreach programs that are in need of financial assistance, and volunteerism.

They are open to all female members of the public who want to make a positive impact and give back to their community.

Their 2019 Annual General Meeting & Open House is coming up on Tuesday, February 12 and will be held at Miller's Well Servicing in Weyburn.

"We'd just like to invite everyone to come out and learn a little bit more about the growth that the Oilwomen have had and some of the exciting things that we have coming up in the next year," explained Jordan Szczecinski, Co-Chair for the Weyburn Oilwomen.

"The open house is going to be an open forum where you can visit and learn more about what we've got going on," expressed Szczecinski. "You can do some networking and just enjoy a nice casual night."

"We'll talk about some of our upcoming fundraisers that night," added Szczecinski. "But we'll also give more information for those that want to apply for some sponsorship or donations from the Weyburn Oilwomen as well."

When will it be taking place and who all can come?

"It will be on February 12," Szczecinski told. "The AGM is going to start at 6pm and the Open House at 7, and it's open to everyone. As well, memberships can be renewed or purchased that night. Which gives a bit of a discount on some of the events we put on, as well as access to some free workshops and seminars that we have coming up this year."
