It was a long time coming since the last time we took over the halls of Weyburn Comprehensive, but it was once again one of the highlights of the year for us.

Starting at 9:00 a.m., we were broadcasting live from Colleen Weimer Hall at WCS, interacting with the students, the staff and anyone else who popped by to see us. The school day ended at 3:30 p.m., but our day wasn’t quite over yet. With enough time to recharge with a quick bite to eat and another cup of coffee, we were right back at it, broadcasting the McLeod Series opening games live on BIG 106.

The staff and students were extremely welcoming as we took over their space for the day. Students took the chance to ask questions about working in radio, and some even took a crack at reading the weather, reading sports, or being put on the spot with interviews.

For some students, their experience had their teacher choosing them for an interview. A big thank you to chemistry teacher Trent Berling for letting us talk to you and your students about what we thought was an interesting story - the periodic table of elements. (Trust us, much more interesting than it may sound)

Throughout the day, students and staff entered for the chance to win tickets to see Cirque du Soleil. Congrats to our winner, MacKenzie Kot

After a positive experience, we can’t wait for our next chance to get back into the hallways of Weyburn Comprehensive. For many of us, our love for radio began in high school (in part because it is the only job which allows us to keep the class clown mentality), and to return to where our dreams started is always a special day.

We can’t wait for the next time we can pop by and visit WCS for the day.

A big thank you to the staff and students at the school. Good luck with the rest of the semester, and Go Eagles Go!
