Beginning in the Heart of Weyburn, right downtown in front of City Hall on Sunday, June 17th, Weyburn’s Opportunity Road Race is a beautiful out-and-back course run along Weyburn’s Tatagwa Parkway. The race features 5k, 10k, 15k, 15k relay events as well as a kids mini-mile.

Despite being called a "race", this event isn't just for professional athletes. Whether you're just getting into running or you've never ran before in your life, anyone can take part in the day.

You can run, walk, jog or even push a stroller or wheelchair if you like. The Weyburn Opportunity Road Race is all about giving every person in the surrounding communities (and visitors) an equal opportunity to get some exercise while supporting a good cause.

All of the money raised through registrations will be going towards our beautiful Tatagwa Parkway, for improvement and maintenance. Two years ago Provincial Government cut a lot of funding to our parks within all of our cities in the province. The Tatagwa Parkway has quite a bit of work to be done, but with the community's support it is more than possible.

If you'd like to volunteer, come to the Welsh Kitchen on Thursday at 7pm to go over all of the details. You can also send an email HERE. Or call (306) 861-9695.
