The Saskatchewan Country Music Association announced the nominees for their annual awards Sunday, and southeast Saskatchewan will be well-represented when the hardware is handed out on June 22nd in Lloydminster.  

Justin LaBrash has been nominated for four awards, and Dan Dugnet has another three, as the region has eleven nominees in ten categories.  

LaBrash has been nominated for Male Artist of the Year, as well as getting a nod for the Video of the Year, the Fans’ Choice Award, and Interactive Artist of the Year.  

Cugnet was nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year and also received two nominations for Alternative Country Album of the Year. He has been nominated for his albums Badlands and Badlands II.

Also nominated for Male Artist of the Year is Chris Henderson, and Karissa Hoffart was nominated for Female Artist of the Year. Weyburn’s Tenille Arts was also nominated for Single of the Year for her song Girl to Girl.  

There were also two non-musician nominations for the southeast. Country 106.7 in Weyburn and Country 106.1 in Estevan were both nominated for Radio Station of the Year – Secondary Market.
