Hockey Saskatchewan announced the Female U18 Top 30 after the tournament held earlier this month in Balgonie. Of the 30 players selected, three are from Weyburn, with one more with Weyburn connections, and a fifth from the area.

The trio from Weyburn are goaltender Amy Swayze, blueliner Rayna Hennie, and forward Addison Greve. Swayze is entering her third year with the Richardson Pioneer U18 AAA Gold Wings and has committed to the University of Regina for the 2025-26 season. Greve and Hennie play with the Regina Rebels, and the news comes just days after they helped the Rebels to the national championship at the Esso Cup in Vernon, BC.

Gold Wings forward Kiah Shields was selected for the Top 30. Originally from Esterhazy, she is going to be entering her third season with the Gold Wings this year.

The fifth player from the region is Kate Williams. Originally from Milestone, she plays with the Notre Dame Hounds.

The 30 players selected will now take part in three camps over the course of the summer and fall. From the players taking part in the camps, the provincial team for the 2024 Under 18 National Championship will be selected. The dates for that tournament have yet to be announced.
