The Weyburn Group Home Society has things in gear for 2021, with 77 participants and now a new van, the organization is seeing a good deal of momentum in these challenging times.

"I work close with a lot of the other agencies, the other Executive Directors, and we pick each others brains and we brainstorm ideas," said Executive Director Colin Folk. "Our biggest focus right now is staying safe in this pandemic and, you know, I think that's the sentiment of all the agencies around in Saskatchewan. It's just we just gotta get through this pandemic safely and then we can move forward expanding."

"The day to day stuff has changed because we've had to change our routine and in coordination and integrated services with the Weyburn Work-In Shop, so, you can only transport from your own homes, because we're trying to follow the regulations that are out there from Saskatchewan Health Authority, so, it's added time to the day," he noted.

Folk said family members of residents used to be able to come into the homes for visits.

"Well, under the new restrictions and guidelines, we've had to stop that from occurring," he said. "So basically everything that we do is the same that you and I would do in our lives for following the guidelines set up by the health authority, and right now, so far, so good, we've been able to, you know, get through the day-to-day business of our organization."
