Marley's Dance Effex and De Tricky Feet Dance Studio were both honoured during the Inspirations of Dance competition held throughout the weekend at Cugnet Centre.

Board Member with Inclusion Weyburn, Dawn Purdue said both dance studios are very committed to inclusion, providing extra support for those with intellectual disabilities both during the dance classes and at competitions.

"We do the Spirit of Inclusion Awards every month to recognize individuals and organizations that promote and encourage diversity and equity and inclusion in our community," shared Purdue. "If extra support is needed for a child, oftentimes they will have somebody come and help the child to participate fully in the dances. They will ensure that there is a person available to support the child to be fully included in the dances."

She added they have been presenting the award to two organizations each month for a number of months, "and we have no shortage of organizations that will receive the award."
