The Saskatchewan government reported 195 new cases of COVID-19 Friday afternoon, along with 221 new recoveries. While the number of new cases was an increase from Thursday, it marked the sixth consecutive day of new cases being below 200, the first time that has occurred since December. The seven-day average of new cases also declined down to 170.

There were also two deaths reported in the update on Friday. One was a person in the 40-49 age group in Saskatoon, while the other was in the 80+ age group in the Central East zone.

Of the new cases reported on Friday, 54 were in Saskatoon and 27 in Regina. There were 21 new cases reported in the Far North West zone, 19 in North Central, 16 in North West, 10 in South East, nine in the Far North East, North East and Central West zones, six in the Central East zone and five in the Far North Central and South Central zones. There were five new cases pending residence information.

Vaccinations against COVID-19 continued, with 525 doses reported Friday, bringing the total number of vaccines delivered in the province to 46,788. So far, the province has been able to administer 101 percent of the doses received so far, thanks to being able to draw extra doses from the vials.

It was reported the province will be receiving less Moderna vaccine than originally anticipated in the week of February 22nd, so there will be a review of distribution plans for that week.
