The James Weir Peoples Choice art exhibition will run from January 5th to March 22nd in the Weyburn Art Gallery with a reception to announce winners on March 22nd, 2024.

The artist entry deadline, however, is December 15th, 2023. 

"Anybody that's interested in entering for that, start creating!" urged Weyburn Arts Council Chair, Tasha Hill.

She noted next year is the 60th anniversary of the Weyburn Arts Council and the 40th anniversary of the James Weir People's Choice. 

"So it's pretty awesome that we've been in the community that long. Pretty incredible."

Hill noted the Spark Centre, where the Gallery is located, is a state-of-the-art venue.

"It's such an amazing facility. We are so fortunate to to have that facility and the fact that patrons can attend at no cost, I think it's just a real gift to the community." 

The JWPC exhibition is an opportunity for anyone 16 and over to show off their original creations of any medium, with a chance for the public to vote blind for their top three favourite works.
