A reception will be held this Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Weyburn Art Gallery, during which the top three artists whose works received the most votes will be revealed.

This in celebration of the 40th annual James Weir People's Choice exhibition.

City Curator and Arts Coordinator with the City of Weyburn, Regan Lanning, said there's a fancy dress-up theme for this year's event.

"We're inviting you to come dressed as your favorite decade."

The reception will kick off with a couple of short speeches, followed by the awards presentation.

"Speedy Auto Glass makes us our trophies, and then the first place will get their name added to our beautiful James Weir People's Choice Trophy, which features a beautifully carved yellow-headed blackbird by the late William Hazzard of Saskatchewan."

Lanning reminded the event is open to anyone, "and, of course, all of our gallery events are always free."
