A Community Forum to discuss the Arts is being held Tuesday night.

"We ask everyone involved in the arts to come," said City Curator Regan Lanning. "So, if you are a local artist, if you are a craftsperson, if you are a part of a local arts group, if you are a local arts educator, come on up, we want to hear your voice."

She added the more voices they have, the better.

"As an Arts Council, we have 10 voices that sit around a table and make decisions, but we can only make decisions from our viewpoint," she noted. "We know we're doing good, we're hitting a lot of those nails on the head but I'm sure there's stuff we're missing."

"The event will be as successful as the attendees make it," Lanning expressed. "So if only five people come, that's not going to be nearly as helpful as if 25 people came. We have a huge room, we have a huge facility, we've got nothing but space. Refreshments will be served, so if nothing else, you'll leave with a cupcake, but help us help you."

She said anyone who is into the arts scene at all should plan to attend.

"If you're an arts presenter, an arts organizer, arts educator, if you are a craft person, even if you just like coming to our events, come, tell us what you like, but also tell us what we need more of," she said.

She said among the topics, they will have information about the new Weyburn Recreation and Cultural Centre and its impact on Weyburn, what it means to have the facility and what changes it entails.

"But mostly, we want to hear from you, we want to hear what your ideas are, we want to hear feedback from your perspective," Lanning expressed.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, October 15th at 7 p.m. at Signal Hill Arts Centre. Pre-registration is not required.
