Audrey Trombley and Jim Vermeersch will be staying on as the chairperson and vice-chairperson, respectively, of the South East Cornerstone Public School Division. The pair were acclaimed to the position as part of the annual organization meeting of the school division that was held Wednesday in Weyburn.

Trombley, who represents the subdivision that includes Fillmore, Stoughton, Midale and Macoun, has served as the chairperson of the board of directors for SECPSD since 2006. Vermeersch, who represents the subdivision for Arcola, Carlyle, Manor, Maryfield and Wawota, will be going into his second term as vice-chairperson. He was first elected to the board in 2018.

The school division holds an election of the chairperson and vice-chairperson every year at the organizational meeting held each November. The positions are elected from members of the board.

The committee appointments were also approved during the meeting. The Audit Committee will consist of Vermeersch, Kevin Keating and Jim Henderson. Henderson will also serve as the division’s representative with the Saskatchewan School Boards Association.

The representative for the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association will be Michelle DeBruyne, with Megan Schick serving as the alternative. The governance and human resources committee consists of Norma Hewitt-Lendrum, Tami Scott, Devona Putland and Schick.

Putland and Scott, along with Vermeersch, serve on the Carlyle Facilities Ad Hoc Committee, while Keating and Eric McCrimmon are on the Estevan Facilities Ad Hoc Committee.

The board budget managers are Trombley and Vermeersch.
