The boil water advisory that was in place for residents of the city of Weyurn was lifted on Thursday, however that was not the case for many rural residents.

Lorraine Fellner of the Weyburn Utility Board explained that the boil water advisory has been officially lifted this afternoon for their customers.

"The water is safe to drink," shared Fellner.

She said if Weyburn Utility Board customers have any questions they can call Ron Fellner at 306-891-9711.

The boil water advisory was issued last Saturday when two pumps at the Weyburn Water Treatment Plant suffered mechanical failure.
