Nickle Lake Regional Park will be celebrating its 60th anniversary on September 2nd with live music, dinner, glow golf, and more.

Park Manager Darren Wheeler said while they have been a park since the 1950s, they amalgamated with Sask Regional Parks August 10th, 1963.

What better way to celebrate than to dine together?

We will be having a three-piece fried chicken meal with dessert, pop, and water and we're selling tickets for $10 apiece," he said. "They're advance tickets only so you can pick them up here in the office."

Supper will run from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., in between music performances, with everything taking place in the beer gardens.

"Tickets have to be bought by August the 26th because we've got to give the vendor time to get the product in," Wheeler noted, saying they anticipate around 500 people to attend.

He added the celebration will be part of their September long weekend events, which will include a market thanks to the success of the one held on Nickle Lake Day. That will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Event organizer Ronalee Larson said the beer gardens open at noon and close at 11:00 p.m. Jen Morin will be playing from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

"We are excited to announce that Weyburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Ltd is sponsoring the Moody Hollow concert on Saturday at 7:00 p.m."

She said the Grub Shack & General Store onsite by the Beer Gardens, and Safe Rides will be available, provided by Barber Motors and drivers sponsored by Another Round Bar & Grill.
