Nickle Lake Day was held on Saturday, August 5th, and it was a busy one at Nickle Lake Regional Park.

Not only was the campground full, as always on a long weekend, there were more than 40 vendors at the Nickle Lake Market, and more than 20 cars at the Soo Line Cruisers Show & Shine Car Show.

Ronalee Larson, who organizes the events at Nickle Lake along with Doyle Larson, said the setup was done Friday night within a couple of hours.

"The day was busy and well attended," she said. "The Sooline Cruisers Show & Shine had a new location in the park which attracted many people. Then right beside them were the tradeshow vendors. Many vendors said that they were very pleased with their sales and how the day went."

She said they saw a full turnout for their pancake breakfast.

"We serve for 500 people, so 500 plates," she noted, adding they saw 500 people in all by the end of the breakfast, for which pancake mix was provided by P&H, and the plates and condiments were provided by Prairie Sky Coop.

Activities were held throughout the day, including live music, which was capped off with the Steep Hill Ramblers at dusk.

"Thank you to the Raffle table sponsors and ticket buyers. The raffle winners were picked while the Steep Hill Ramblers were on stage."

"The live music in the beer gardens seems to attract lots of people," Larson added. "Thank you to everyone who helped out in any way and who participated in the Nickle Lake Day activities on Saturday. Clean-up happened on Sunday and Monday and planning will start soon for next year!"

Safe Rides home were being offered the whole day, with vehicles loaned by Barber Motors and drivers provided by Another Round Sports Bar & Grill.
