Despite a recent enforcement campaign initiated by Saskatchewan RCMP and a number of municipal police forces, an alarming number of people still aren't wearing seatbelts.

RCMP Inspector Don Ross says despite the campaign, they still wrote over 1000 seatbelt tickets across the province.

During the two-month campaign, 14 people died in Saskatchewan in accidents while not wearing seatbelts.

Ross adds that the spring and summer months tend to be a little more dangerouswith people sometimes not paying attention or going a little fast.

Although the 'Click It or Ticket' Campaign has officially concluded, RCMP remind motorists and their passengers to always buckle up. The fine for not wearing a seatbelt in Saskatchewan is $165.
