New for the Summer of 2023, Collabartive Studios will be offering classes specifically curated for teens along with a separate program created just for children. Krystal Glowatski shares that the separation between programs for these different age groups was decided after receiving feedback from their guests.

"We were getting a lot of requests for stuff for teens. There's a ton of stuff for kids to do during the Summer, but there's not a lot for that 13-17 age bracket. So, we were interested in offering something to the youth in the community that would fit that need."

The new Summer Art Development program will be structured similarly to courses found in Universities, focusing in-depth on a particular skill each week. The program begins on July 5th with classes being held once every week, totaling 8 classes for the Summer. "You don't have to register for the entire Summer," Glowatski explains. "You can sign up for one Wednesday, or every other Wednesday, or you can sign up for all 8!"

While their previous classes have prioritized producing a completed piece of art, the Summer Art Development program differs by placing focus on growing your knowledge of the arts. "We're not focusing so much on finishing a project that you're going to display at home, it's more about really developing the skills that go along with the medium of that week."

Most classes in the program will cost $60 plus tax, with some priced at $75 plus tax to cover the added cost of the extra materials needed. Glowatski encourages teens to sign up if they have been struggling to find their niche group in the community.

"I think this is really geared towards the kid who maybe feels a bit left out because all their friends are doing sports stuff in the Summer, and they're looking for something that caters to their passion and their interest. You're going to meet other like-minded individuals and expand on the skills that you already have, and really develop as an artist."
