The 18U Weyburn Warhawks spent this past weekend in Regina, playing in the 18U AA Tier 5 championships. The Warhawks would overcome a setback on the second day of the round-robin and proceeded to win three in a row to claim the provincial championship.

The tournament started with a win Friday, then a loss in the first game of the day on Saturday. They closed the round-robin with a win Saturday afternoon, giving them a berth in the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, Vlad Szczecinksi would get the start, and Morgan LaCoste closed things out on the mound as the Warhawks picked up a win in just five innings. From there, Weyburn was off to the provincial finals.

In the championship game, starter Noah Kopec and closer Justin Whitrow combined to hold the opposition to just three runs, while the bats came alive to lead the team to a 12-3 victory.
