Envision Counselling and Support Centre is looking for new volunteer members for its board of directors.

Envision is a non-profit organization serving Weyburn and the rest of southeast Saskatchewan.

“Our board is a governance board so it guides the direction of Envision and follows along with our strategic plan,” said Executive Director, Lynda Rideout. “Our board members also work together to create that strategic plan every three to five years so that we have forward momentum on a continual basis.”

Rideout said members can be from anywhere in southeast Saskatchewan.

“We do usually meet in person in either Estevan or Weyburn on a monthly basis, with the exception of the months of July, August and December.”

Mileage for travel is reimbursed, and there is the option to meet virtually in some circumstances.

Rideout added that they are looking for people with any background or level of experience, and they are looking to diversify the representation on the board.

“Being a board member is a great way to be involved in the future direction of Envision and give back with your time. It's your opportunity to be an integral part of making a difference in our community.”

With it being National Volunteer Week, Rideout spoke to the dedication of their volunteer board members.

“The board that we have are really passionate about Envision and the work that we do and the services that we provide, and they are such a knowledgeable bunch when it comes to solving the questions as they come up, especially around the COVID experience and that sort of thing.”
