The City of Weyburn is reminding residents to sign up for the Everbridge Alert System if they haven’t done so already. The system is used by the city to get messages out to residents quickly in a variety of situations.

Amber Wiggins is the communications officer for the City of Weyburn. She explained there are many positives for the system.

“The benefits are just that you would know if anything of importance is happening in the city, whether it's spraying for bugs or a situation like the water main break we had a few weeks ago,” Wiggins explained.

The messages are relayed to residents by voice message to a home phone, by voice message or text message to a cellular phone, and by email. Residents are also able to signup for specific notices, such as general information, emergency weather information, police alerts and fire department alerts.

You can sign up for the Everbridge Alert System on the City of Weyburn website.
