MP for Souris-Moose Mountain Ed Komarnicki

The Government of Canada is investing to help youth in southeast Saskatchewan get jobs.

MP for Souris-Moose Mountain Ed Komarnicki says that there are a number of programs that they are dealing with, however two in particular will receive the funding.

"There are a number of programs and the one we're dealing with is specifically related to the Skills Link Program and the Career Focus Program," says Komarnicki. "The Summer Jobs Program is one that's not yet have an announcement with respect to the successful applicants that will happen in due course, the announcement here was specifically one that will happen in Whitewood and one with the Southeast Enterprise Region."

The program in Whitewood will be a 12-week program that will deal with skills in maintaining a job and getting a job along with problem solving and computer skills. He says primarily is it will be focused on the food industry.

The Southeast Enterprise Region program will be a full year for post graduate students who will deal with the housing issues and shortages in the southeast.
