The 14th Annual Gateway Music Festival in Bengough is just over a month away and excitement is growing here in the Opportunity City.

We were given the chance to catch up with Richard Young, one of the founding members of one of the headlining acts this year, The Kentucky Headhunters.

Over the years the Kentucky Headhunters have released 14 albums, with their most recognizable hit being "Dumas Walker"

Richard is not only one of the NICEST people we have ever chatted with, but he also has 50 years of musical experience under his belt and chatted with us about everything from the bands origins to how enjoyable trips to Canada are.

Take a listen!

Richard also reminded us of some of the bands newer music, which blurs the lines between rock, roots and blues, and earlier this morning we played "Jukebox Full of Blues" (which is quickly becoming my new favourite song)

Although we mentioned in the interview that it hadn't been confirmed what night the Kentucky Headhunters would be playing at Gateway, we have since learned that they will take the stage Friday night. Tickets, and ticket locations, are available on the Gateway Music Festival website.

Thanks again to Richard for chatting with us and we will see you all at Gateway!

PS-Richard had more than a few "proud papa" moments in regards to his son's band, Black Stone Cherry, so here's a shout out to them and their single "White Trash Millionaire"
