The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation begins job action today, as they start an indefinite work-to-rule campaign. The job action was announced late last week after negotiations between the STF and the provincial government reached another impasse.

With the job action starting, there are some changes for the week at Weyburn Comprehensive School. The Grade 12 Academic and Scholarship Awards were initially to be presented Tuesday evening. This has been moved, with the awards to now be presented during the school day.

The awards will be presented Tuesday afternoon, starting at 1:45. Guests and scholarship sponsors are now asked to be at the Cugnet Center for 1:30 p.m.

As for the South East Cornerstone Public School Division, they are working within the parameters of the work-to-rule action over the course of the lunch hours, as lunch hour supervision is withdrawn by the teachers. They are asking for parents who can have their children go home for lunch to do so. They are also asking for assistance with noon-hour supervision. Those who are able to do so are asked to contact their local school.

As for graduations, work is underway as school administration makes arrangements with parent committees so the graduation ceremonies outside of the regular school day can proceed.
