The Moose Jaw Shrine Club, WA WA Shriners of Saskatchewan and Shrine International all work together to raise funds that go towards the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Currently there are approximately 100 Saskatchewan kids in their care.

And just recently the Moose Jaw Shriners had to cancel their annual Summer Children's Festival that has been running for eight years due to the current pandemic. So they reached out to local man Richy Roy to put together a whole new virtual entertainment show for children to watch from the comfort on their own homes.

"The Moose Jaw Shrine group is hosting the first online interactive children's festival," told Richy Roy, Local Magician, Entertainer, and Host of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club's Facebook Variety Show for Kids. "So this year they put me in charge to develop an amazing show. We've lined up people from all across Canada to star in this show."

What makes this children's show unique is that the kids will actually be able to connect with the entertainers through the live stream Facebook format.

"This is going to be an amazing one hour interactive show that children can watch online," explained Roy. "All they have to do is get their parents to log on to their Facebook account then head over to the Moose Jaw Shrine Club's Facebook page. And they can take part in a very unique way to interact with these entertainers. They can ask them questions and chat with them as the show is going on."

When will this show be happening?

"We are very excited that this show will be taking place every Saturday morning in June at 10 AM," Roy answered. "This will be the first time that they've ever tried an online interactive form of entertainment for children. It's going to be geared for ages six up to twelve and we've lined up a whole lot of entertainment for that age range. And kids can tune in and comment along in the live video feed as I ask them trivia questions, riddles, and they get to see all the different great entertainers. I'm going to be streaming live from Weyburn and we're going to be linking these entertainers in from wherever they are at. It's a chance to interact with some world class performers. Something that might never happen because it's too costly to get them all to come into one location at one time. But by using the magic of the internet we can make this happen."

What else can parents and children expect to see in these Saturday morning shows?

"This show will also highlight lots of different things in Saskatchewan," said Roy. "Such as the Moose Jaw Equestrian Team where kids are going to see horses. They can check out the dino unit, we have exclusive access to Scotty the dinosaur, the world's largest T-Rex at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum. The Regina Science Centre will be sending a bunch of fun science videos for the kids. They'll even get to meet the K-9 dog team and a real police bicycle officer. As well as paramedics, dance fitness studios, and it will tie the community together with the children in our province."

These online events are free for everyone to attend and the main entertainers will be as follows:

Hypnotist Hadlen from Saskatoon

"Hypnotist Hadlen is going to hypnotize me online and kids will be able to type in their suggestions on what the hypnotist should try to make me do," exclaimed Roy. "So if the children want me to cluck like a chicken they can ask him to make me do that. It's going to be a lot of fun and something new and exciting kids have never seen before."

TikTok Creator and Magician Lorena Watters from Vancouver

International Magician Ken Sky from Winnipeg

International Award Winning Magician Matt Gore from Saskatoon

Coin Manipulator Jamie O’Brien from Moose Jaw

And parents can sponsor the shows in support of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club if they choose by purchasing a ticket for their 2nd annual car raffle for twenty dollars each. This year’s dream car is a 1987 Little Red Corvette purchased at the world famous Barrett Jackson classic car auction in Scottsdale Arizona. The draw date will be on September 19, 2020 and all of the funds will be going to support children through approved projects of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club.
