An increase in training seats available for physcians at the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine is a welcome addition.

In the past, 60 spots were available but after the Government of Saskatchewan committed $13.1 milllions towards training oppurtunities for physicians, there will now be 88 spots.

Doctor Veno Padayachee, past president of the Saskatchewan Medical Association says the province has been dependant on foreign trained graduates, which is fine, but it's time to increase training for local graduates so more positions can be filled locally.
