Energy prices rose Tuesday, led by a 2 percent increase in benchmark crude that ended a three-day losing streak. The turnaround comes amid last-minute deal making on the final day of the May contract for oil.

 

Here's a breakdown of how energy prices traded Tuesday on the New York Mercantile Exchange:

Crude: added $2 to settle at $83.45 a barrel

Heating Oil: rose 2.34 cents to settle at $2.1802 a gallon

Gasoline: gained 2.65 cents to settle at $2.2809 a gallon

Natural Gas: added 3.1 cents to settle at $3.975 per 1,000 cubic feet.

On the ICE futures exchange:

Brent Crude: added 57 cents to settle at $84.80 a barrel.
