The indoor pool at the Weyburn Leisure Centre closed on June 4th, and today the outdoor pool opened up for the season.

"We do have a lot of school swims coming up and happening over the next couple weeks," noted Tina Clay, Program Manager with the City of Weyburn.

"On June 29th, we're actually hosting a Party in the Park at the Leisure Centre for June's Parks and Rec Month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that day. So you can come and meet your leisure and parks team, including your summer program staff," she invited. "We will be hosting a free swim for everybody from 9:00 to 11:30 that morning, and will also be serving hot dogs and freezes while supplies last."

She said during the party in the park, they'll also be showcasing their Mobile Play Park activities.

Then, free swimming will be offered on Canada Day, July 1st, followed by a summer of opportunities for kids to hone their diving board skills.

"We also have our free swims for children and youth this summer, from July 3rd to August 25th, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., the Weyburn Agricultural Society sponsors Mondays, Wednesdays are sponsored by the City, and Fridays are sponsored by Fletcher's Funeral Chapel and Dignity Memorial."
