The Weyburn Oilwomen had a packed house tonight for their 'A New King is Born' event at McKenna Hall.

Brayden King took the stage for a full evening of entertainment, which also included a silent and a live auction, as well as food and socializing.

Travis Sonnenberg got to McKenna Hall at 12:00 p.m., and we spoke with him just before 9:00 when Brayden was set to take the stage.

"It's a lot of hands on," he noted. "Dustin [Forseth, pictured below] always comes in and gives me a hand, my girlfriend Kelsey always gives me a hand, my dad usually shows up and gives me a hand. But yeah, tweaking all the lights, pointing everything. The stage monitors. It takes a lot of time, sound check and everything else. It's an event."

Sonnenberg and King go way back, including Travis having recorded, in his home studio, the very first song Brayden ever recorded at age 14.

"He's a great dude to work with. His whole band is awesome. Awesome guys," he commented.

Being self taught with the help of an audio engineer friend, he said he does these kinds of events as a passion project, on the side, on top of his full time job.

Sonnenberg was the sound and light engineer for Communithon over the past two events.
