With the snowfall continuing today, and the good chance it'll stick around tomorrow, Police Chief Jamie Blunden with the Weyburn Police Service is advising drivers to slow down for everyone's safety.

"Obviously our roads are covered with snow, so we ask everybody out there that's driving to slow down and be cautious of the fact that it's going to take a lot longer to stop and drive a little [slower] than you normally do for the speed in order to be able to stop the conditions that are out there," he implored.

"So make sure that if the windows are all fogged up, you have enough time to get rid of the fog [and brush off snow] before you move and have good visibility all around you," he advised.

He said caution is the most important factor in safety, especially on roads covered in snow.

"If you don't have the snow tires on now, it's probably a good time to think about that," he added.
