The Weyburn Police Service is reminding those who drop off and pick up children from school, when it's this cold, exhaust fog is a visibility concern.

"With the exhaust fog out there, and everything else going on, we just ask the motorists to make sure they take some extra caution when they're at the four-way stops, or even pulling up to the schools to pick up kids, there's certain no-stopping zones out there," explained Police Chief Jamie Blunden. "We're going to be by the schools a lot more often and we're asking everybody to comply with those restrictions we have in place for the safety of the kids."

"So, please be advised, and be mindful of the fact that, with exhaust fog, you may not see the kids until the last minute, so please slow down."

He said this is especially an issue when many cars are parked lined up along sidewalks outside of schools.

"You know, a lot of cars are parked around there and the exhaust fog is sort of hiding some of the kids," Blunden noted. "So we're going to ask you to make sure that you slow down, be cognizant, and if there's no-stopping or no-parking zones, please do not park there. They are there for a reason, and we are going to be around in the next little while here, to ensure that we enforce that."

He added they are now done with the warnings, so they'll be enforcing the no-stopping and no-parking zones at schools in Weyburn.
