Manufacturing sales in Saskatchewan saw the second-highest percentage growth in Canada in March, according to the latest numbers from Statistics Canada. Year-over-year, manufacturing sales were up by nearly 30 percent, while they were up 10.6 percent month-over-month. Nationally, the rate was 14.8 percent year-over-year and 3.5 percent month-over-month.

"Significant growth in leading economic indicators like manufacturing sales, wholesale trade and job growth show that our economy remains resilient and we are showing strong signs of recovery," Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison said in a written release. "Saskatchewan has one of the most competitive business environments in all of Canada and the recent large private sector investments worth billions of dollars will create more jobs and opportunities for Saskatchewan people."

The value of the manufacturing sales in March was $1.49 billion.
