Our province saw a lot of spring-runoff this year, but despite the set-back, our provincial parks were still able to set attendance records.

"We have 3.37 million visitors that exceeds 2010 number by 2.6 per cent and beat the previous record which we sent in 2009."  explains Bill Hutchinson, Minister for Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport.

Two-thirds of the visitors to our parks came from within the province with the remaining third coming from outside Saskatchewan, with Alberta having the biggest significance.

Hutchinson adds that the private sector plays a vital roll as well. New businesses like hotels and Mosaic Place for example draw tourism to our province.
