The Weyburn RCMP have released more details concerning the breaking and entering of the Coop Convenience Store, located at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 39.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning, and Corporal Gudjonson with the Radville RCMP detachment told Discover Weyburn that the truck used to smash open the front of the store had been stolen from a nearby business just prior to the crime.

While the truck was recovered on Monday morning in the Milestone area, and the ATM was just recovered in the Craven area last night.

Gudjonson said the video shows them breaking in first with a crowbar, and then they drove the truck in and put a chain on the ATM, pulling it free from its locking bolts and then dragging it out by hand, tying it to their truck and driving away.

The break-in occurred at about 3:17 am and we were not notified until about 5:30 a.m. as the CO-OP did not have an alarm system and a member of the Weyburn Police Service was fueling up and noticed the damage. The truck was stolen earlier from a business near the CO-OP in Weyburn, Pat's Off-Road.

Anyone who is able to help police identify the suspects shown in these photos, or anyone who has any information on the matter, is asked to contact the Weyburn RCMP at 306-848-4640, or to remain anonymous, call Crime-Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
