The Weyburn Humane Society is taking registration now for the Sixth Annual Fore Paws Golf Classic, being held at the Weyburn Golf Club on June 24th.

"We only have 13 spots available, so please call and get your name in there so you don't miss out on this fun event," said Korryn Kubashek. fundraising co-chair for the Weyburn Humane Society. "You can call me directly at 306-861-2519 so we can get you registered."

She said this year they'll have teams of four on an 18-hole course.

"You'll get four supper tickets and two golf carts included for a total of $500."

Funds raised go toward the shelter's spay and neuter program.

"So it helps reduce the animal population within the city as well. If you adopt an animal that hasn't been spayed or neutered because they're too young, once you have them spayed or neutered, you can bring back the receipt and show proof of it and we will reimburse you $100 back for having your animals spayed and neutered."

Kubashek said that as she's been working on planning the event, she has gotten a lot of great feedback from past attendees.

"Even people that had never golfed before, they had a blast coming out to do it," she noted. "We're doing a Texas scramble and tee off will be at 10:00 a.m. We're asking people to be there at 9:00 a.m. to get settled in and ready for the event. We have many prizes, games, raffles. It's gonna just be a fun-filled event and one that you don't want to miss out on."

"If you can't find a full team of four, you can call in and register for how many you have, so if it's just one person coming, it's $125 and so on."

She added they're really looking forward to it.
