Road closure starting May 1st on 4th Street S

Starting on May 1st, 2023, 4th Street S will be closed from 1st Avenue SE to 3rd Avenue SE, due to road repairs.

Paige Tenbult, Communications Coordinator with the City of Weyburn, said that location is the area right in front of River Park Campground.

"Traffic will not be able to access the entrance to River Park Campground. If you are wanting to use the trails or go to the park that is there right now, we're encouraging people to just park along Confederation Drive and walk into the park, so no traffic will be able to get into the park throughout the week."

Tenbult said that the construction is expected to last all week, and the city of Weyburn is anticipating it will be completed around May 9th.

"The River Park Campground doesn't actually open until May 19th for the camping season," Tenbult said.

"This year, we launched online reservations so you can go to the city of Weyburn website to find out more. This road closure will heavily impact people currently trying to access the campground, but it's not going to impact the camping season at all."
