A road rage incident occured over the weekend resulting in one person injured, and charges laid for another. The Weyburn Police Service reporting witnesses saw an adult male knock out another driver on the street.

"At about 4:30 in the afternoon, our individual members were called to the scene by ambulance with respect to an individual that had actually been found on their roadway, it appeared that there was a road rage incident where a manner of driving complaint between the two individuals driving. They got out to have conversation and one individual punched the other one and knocked him out," explained Police Chief Jamie Blunden.

"The ambulance arrived and ultimately that individual is treated for medical attention," he noted. "Subsequently, as a result of that individual coming back into the station, we had the suspect that actually performed the assault on that individual come to the station he was arrested for the assault. At the same time he was arrested for the assault, it appeared that he was intoxicated and subsequently was arrested for impaired driving for that incident as well."

The individual was given a future court date, and the person who was assaulted is being treated for their injuries.

The incident occurred late Sunday afternoon on Prairie Avenue.
