Weyburn Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign received a much-needed $10,000 donation from Norm Mondor on Thursday.

It has been a yearly tradition for Mondor to make $10,000 donations to this campaign.

“We're just very thankful for Mr. Mondor's continued support every year,” says Shannon Fodchuk, Community Ministry Worker with the Salvation Army Weyburn. “Also, throughout the year he stops by to check what we need and help us fill our shelves.”

Fodchuk says getting this donation is always exciting for the salvation Army.

“It means a great deal to us as it helps keep our food shelves stocked in the food bank so we can continue to serve the ones in our community that really need it right now and it gives us an extra boost this time of year.”

The biggest thing that the salvation Army has been needing right now is food.

“We had a huge increase in our client base these past couple months so our shelves are pretty bare right now so it does a majority of that money goes.”
