After a couple of weeks of offers, the Weyburn Red Wings have traded forward Jared Smale.

 

The 20 year old Edmonton product has been dealt along with 19 year old forward Alex Horsburgh to Port Hope on the Ontario Provincial Junior "A" Hockey League.

Smale was sent home by the hockey club after 3 points in 2 games.

The trade reunites Smale and forward Sean Bassingthwaite.

Bassingthwaite was traded to Port Hope in the off season for forward Torrie Lindsay.

Bassingthwaite has 5 points in 8 games for Port Hope.

Meanwhile the Red Wings will be in action tonight as the begin a 3 game in 3 night road trip.

Weyburn travels to Kindersley to take on the Klippers.

Tomorrow the Wings are in the Battlefords while Sunday Weyburn plays Humboldt.

The Wings sit 2nd in the Sherwood, 3 points back of first place Melville.

Elsewhere tonight...Melville is in Yorkton, Flin Flon travels to the Battlefords and Nipawin entertains Melfort.

There was one game last night, La Ronge got by Notre Dame 4-2.
