The snow is finally here in Weyburn, and according to the forecast, we shouldn't expect it to melt anytime  soon, with Environment Canada advising that there is a risk of frostbite with tonight's overnight low of minus 24, the wind chill feeling like minus 32.

Weyburn residents woke up this morning to a cover of snow that came down overnight, and Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Natalie Hasell with Environment Canada said we can expect more light snow throughout this week.

"We're not looking at very heavy winds, so conditions right now should just be light snow and I don't know that it's going to accumulate to anything particularly significant."

The inclement weather will pick back up again tomorrow, though, with another good amount of snow likely on the way.

"Then we'll have another system come through and there we might see snow again tomorrow becoming more significant tomorrow night and into Wednesday and that might give us another maybe another 10 centimeters," said Hasell, "Some other areas in southeastern Saskatchewan could see maybe up to 15. It's a little unclear still exactly how much snow we're going to get with the system."
