Paramedics With Heart held their annual Pack the Back yesterday, where local EMS park an ambulance outside of the Wholesale Club to fill with food donations for the Weyburn Salvation Army Food Bank.

Stephanie Schmidt, local Paramedic and Member of Paramedics With Heart, says they received a lot of donations.

“We got it about 3/4 full, which I don't have an exact total but, it was pretty full. We were able to donate quite a lot to the Salvation Army."

Schmidt says it was colder than expected.

“It's not your typical Saskatchewan winter for us here, so we weren't really prepared for that, but it was still a great day. It still went off as successful as it ever does, and it was just wonderful.”

Schmidt says it doesn’t matter what time of year they hold Pack the Back or what the weather is like, as it’s always very successful.
